Sleeping At Last - Saturn

Image
Sleeping at Last is a musical project led by Ryan O'Neal who is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. The project initially began as three-piece band with Ryan as the lead singer and guitarist, his brother Chad as the drummer, and Dan Perdue as the bassist. In the following years after the release of their first four albums, both Chad and Dan left the band to pursue other interests. Ryan O'Neal chose to keep the name of the band for his solo works from that point on. A lot of the works from Sleeping at Last are mostly focused on the instrumentals - which I personally think makes the songs more emotional.  This can also be seen in today's song recommendation: Saturn - from the Atlas: Space II album. The album continues on Sleeping at Last's theme of space, and includes the last five planets in the Milky Way Galaxy. This is personally my favorite song - and also the first one I heard - from Sleeping at Last. The song is 4 minutes and 50 seconds l

BTS - Never Mind

Image
BTS is a seven-member South Korean band that formed in 2010 and debuted in 2013. They are an idol group that is now known worldwide and beloved by their fans; Army. The band consists of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook.  BTS co-writes and composes much of their work and is known to include social commentary, often incorporating criticism of today's society in their lyrics.  Many fans finds comfort in their music since they aim to include experiences everyone has felt in life (sadness, loneliness etc.), and aren't afraid to open up about their own struggles.  Today's song recommendation of the day is their intro: Never Mind. A song by the rapline (Mostly Suga) that was released on November of 2015. The track is featured in their album; The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Pt. 2. This is actually my personal favorite amongst all of BTS's songs. I find the song very comforting and emotional and powerful and most of all motivating.  The song

Alicia Keys - Underdog

Image
Alicia Keys - as we all know - is an American musician, singer, composer etc.  Todays song recommendation of the day is her newly released hit song "Underdog" that was released on January of this year.  Personally I think the song is really great and I've actually had it on repeat the last couple of days! I really love it and hope everyone gives it a listen. It's a song that compels me to move around and dance, especially when the chorus hits, and I recommend everyone listening to this song, to do it on headphones with the volume turned completely up.   But while song makes me move around, the lyrics makes me pause. The lyrics focuses on finding your voice, recognizing your power, and defying any odds that comes your way - which also is the meaning of the word 'underdog', someone who is expected to lose.  Here's a snippet of the chorus:  "This goes out to the underdog Keep on keeping at what you love You'll find that someday

ONE OK ROCK - WE ARE

Image
ONE OK ROCK is a Japanese rock band formed in 2005. The band currently consist of Takahiro Moriuchi (Taka) - the vocalist, Toru Yamashita - the bandleader and guitarist, Ryota Kohama - the bassist and Tomoya Kanki who is the drummer. The song recommendation of the day is their song We Are from their album 'Ambitions' that was released on January 2017. Taka said this about the album: " We wanted to make an album where we can all sing along together. By singing strongly in unison about hope, we wish to reinforce the importance of not giving up". We Are really embodies that and is also my favorite song from the group. The lyrics are very meaningful and really gives the listener a feeling of empowerment and belongning. But the best part of the song have to be seing the live performances. First time I saw the live performance of We Are I got goosebumps and tears in my eyes. It's really a sight to behold! The audience are very active and sings along and theres
